Thursday, August 16, 2018 - COTU Boss, Francis Atwoli, has been the talk of social media after it emerged that he had won the heart of youthful KTN anchor, Mary Kilobi, and married her as a second wife.

Many people have been questioning whether the 69 yr old vocal trade unionist is able to satisfy the 34 yr old media girl.

Atwoli bragged about his bedroom prowess during an interview on Citizen TV and revealed that despite his age, he still has the stamina.

“Ninaweza mbaya sana. Katiba lazima usome” (which translates to, I am capable of doing it. It’s a must for a man to get conjugal rights.”

Thursday, August 16, 2018 - A leaked phone conversation between COTU boss, Francis Atwoli, and his second wife who he dumped for youthful KTN anchor, Mary Kilobi, has leaked.

While appearing in an interview on Citizen TV, Atwoli said that he divorced his second wife after she ventured into politics and stopped taking care of him.

But the leaked phone conversation has exposed Atwoli as a dead-beat father.

Atwoli’s wife is heard saying that he abandoned her and refused to take up parental responsibilities.

He doesn’t even take care of his own kids.

Is this what is awaiting Mary Kilobi?

“I went to a hospital where I undressed to be examined as I had suffered injuries on my lower back,” Nyasuguta narrated.

She denied a suggestion by defence lawyer that she could not pay a bill of Sh2,000, and told the court the bill had been paid and that she was attacked for no apparent reason.

Nyasuguta and Mr Maina also denied they were drunk when they were attacked. 

They told the defence lawyer that the lost card was later recovered at the club.

One of the suspects, Kabogo has been charged with being found with a Techno mobile phone belonging to Mr Mwangi, who was also robbed cash and had his motor vehicle windscreen smashed.

The accused denied charges of robbery with violence, assault and handling of suspected stolen property.

Friday, August 17, 2018 - Jeff Koinage’s controversial interview with flamboyant COTU Secretary General, Francis Atwoli, on Wednesday night, has landed him and Citizen TV in trouble with the Media Council of Kenya (MCK).

The award winning journalist has been accused of being unethical and unprofessional with some of the questions he posed to Mr. Atwoli.

Consequently, MCK CEO, David Omwoyo has written to Jeff’s employers, Royal Media Services, over the matter.

The notice from MCK reads:

“(Koinange) breached clause 13 of the Code of conduct for the practise of journalism on protection of privacy. The article states that inquiries into an individual’s private life is not acceptable and things concerning a person’s home, family, religion, sexuality, personal life and individual’s private affairs shall not be allowed,”

“The host was persistent in discussing explicit adult related content on TV outside the watershed hour contravening clause 10 on obscenity, taste and tone in reporting of the code of conduct for the practice of journalism in Kenya,”

While interviewing Atwoli, Jeff, who is not new to such controversy, asked Atwoli who recently married a youthful TV presenter embarrassing ‘bedroom matters’

Friday, August 17, 2018 - Veteran actressEunice Wambui  popularly known as Nyasuguta from her role in local TV show ‘Vitimbi’  on Thursday narrated how two men attacked her at a nightclub over a Sh1,650 bill.

Nyasuguta, who was appearing before Milimani Magistrate, Elector Riany, revealed that she also sustained serious injuries and lost ear rings worth Sh16,000 during the incident at Club Sidai Oleng on Kiambu Road.

Nyasuguta was in the company of two male friends including Embakasi North Parliamentary aspirant, Mr Harrison Wangoro Mwangi, when she was attacked.

“Mr Mwangi had paid a bill of Sh14,500 when an additional bill of Sh1,650 was handed to them by Dorica.”

“I asked her why she added an extra bill,” Nyasuguta said.

“Upon questioning the bill, Mr Maina opted to pay and handed over two bank visa cards and asked the waiter to confirm which had money then use it to foot the bill,” Nyasuguta said.

Friday, August 17, 2018 - President Uhuru Kenyatta’s niece, Nana Gecaga, has opened up about her love life and her struggles to get a genuine lover.

The 40-year old who is also the CEO of Kenyatta International Conference Centre, admits being a granddaughter of Kenya’s founding father the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, has made it hard for her to find genuine love since most people tend to be interested in her status and pedigree and not her as a person.

Nevertheless, the mother of three insists that she’s happy as a single mother and doesn’t regret being born in the Kenyatta family.

In a candid interview with a local daily, Nana, who is the sister to President Uhuru’s PA, Jomo Gecaga, said:

“Getting a genuine partner, I would say. I have struggled with relationships.”

“I have had a couple of good relationships, but mostly it’s been difficult because the people have not been interested in me as a person,”

Friday, August 17, 2018 - A city court has sentenced a 37-year old man to 60 years in jail for defiling two boys in Nairobi.

The accused, David Wachira Kabugi, was found guilty of defiling two boys aged 11 and 13 years between November 2014 and December 2015 in Zimmerman area.

The prosecution narrated how Wachira, who is a driver by profession, had been preying on the minors.

For instance, he is accused of luring the unsuspecting boys with snacks and drinks to his house before messing with them.

A neighbor told the court that he once caught the accused trying to defile one of the boys and raised an alarm.

In his defence, Wachira claimed that he had been framed by one of the parents of the boys insisting that the boys had been coached to say what they told the court.

The court ruled that there was sufficient evidence to convict him and he was handed 20 years in prison on the first count of defilement and the subsequent four counts on the attempted defilement to 10 years each to run concurrently.

Friday, August 17, 2018 - President Uhuru Kenyatta has become the first Kenyan President to have a female Aide-de-camp (ADC).

The lady ADC, who has been identified as Rachael Kamui, was spotted seated behind the Head of State during the ongoing annual music festivals at Sagana State Lodge in Nyeri.

Last month, the Presidential Service Communication Unit (PSCU) announced Lt. Col Timothy Lokolool as the official ADC replacing Lt.Col Victor Mburu who had been Uhuru’s ADC for 11 months.

Lt. Col Peter Njiru was Uhuru’s only Aide-de-camp during his first term in office.

Friday August 17, 2018 - National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga, has castigated MPs who were bribed in Parliament last week to drop a report on contraband sugar.

Speaking in Tala, Machakos County, during the burial of Christine Wausi, an aunt of former Senator Johnson Muthama on Thursday, Raila said those who gave bribes and those who received them should be equally held responsible.

"Those bribing MPs should also be blamed.”

“We should investigate who they are and why they went to tempt MPs.”

“It takes two to tango," Raila Odinga said.

He also said that he agreed with President Uhuru Kenyatta that corruption was a menace that should be eradicated and the culprits punished indiscriminately.

“Even if you are my brother and you are caught in corruption, you will carry your own cross because you did not steal on my behalf or on behalf of my tribe,” said Raila.

Wiper Party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Senator Muthama supported Mr Odinga's decision to join the President in the war on corruption.

“There has been tension and a lot of suspicion but it is important for NASA to hold together.”

“There are people who do not want us to be united.”

“The people of Kenya are tired of corruption.”

“If we win the war on corruption, President Kenyatta will have established a proper legacy," Kalonzo said.
