Tuesday, December 18, 2018-Director of Criminal Investigations, George Kinoti, has requested the court to conduct a public inquest on the death of the late Nyeri Governor, Wahome Gakuru, who perished in a tragic road accident last year.

Kinoti addressed a letter to Nyeri Chief Magistrate and said the decision was reached following a directive from the office of Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Haji.

The late Wahome Gakuru’s family through their spokesperson Waruru Ndegwa, questioned the delay by police to conduct investigation on Gakuru’s death and added that they believe he was assassinated.

This guy also believes the late Governor  who was one on the best brains from Mt Kenya was assassinated.

He came up with a  theory on why someone wanted him dead.

Tuesday December 18, 2018-Former Kiambu Governor, William Kabogo, has shared his thoughts about the political relationship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader, Raila Odinga.

Last week, Uhuru received a thunderous welcome in Nyanza region when he toured the region to launch development projects.

In fact during a meeting attended by Luo Council of Elders, the chairman of the council asked Uhuru to endorse Raila Odinga for presidency in 2022 and in return be appointed for the proposed Prime Minister’s position.

However, the proposal has faced stiff opposition from some leaders like Kabogo who told the Luo Council of Elders “to go to hell” with their idea.

"You guys got it all wrong. Kenya is not about dishing political positions. That’s not a matter of the Luo community but the Kenya public. Period," Kabogo wrote on his social media account.

 Kabogo is among the few Mt Kenya leaders who have the ear of the President.

Tuesday December 18, 2018-Self proclaimed National Resistance Movement (NRM) general, Miguna Miguna, has continued to oppose the much publicised March 9th handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga saying the two leaders are joking with the lives of Kenyans.

Commenting on social media on Monday , Miguna, who is currently in Canada after he was deported by Kenya government for participating in the illegal swearing of Raila Odinga as people’s president on January 30th said Uhuru and Raila thinks that the country belong to them and their families.

He said Kenya does not belong to Uhuru, Raila or former President Daniel Moi but it belongs to all Kenyans who forms the majority.

Miguna, who is an Osgoode trained lawyer, said he will lead a revolution to rescue Kenyans from Kenyattaism, Odingaism and Nyayoism.

“A WARNING TO @UKenyatta and @RailaOdinga: KENYA IS NOT A PRIVATE ESTATE. Kenya does not belong to Kenyatta, Odinga and Moi. We will never allow you to DESTROY OUR CONSTITUTION and DEMOCRACY the way you did in 1964. We will RECLAIM our freedoms and rights through a REVOLUTION,” Miguna wrote.

Tuesday December 18, 2018-Makueni Governor, Prof Kivutha Kibwana has decided to offer a piece of advice to President Uhuru Kenyatta on how to end the cancer of corruption in the country.

For over 5 decades, the country has been struggling with corruption with senior state officers stealing billions of shillings every year putting the country as one of the most corrupt country in the planet.

In an opinion piece published by one of the major dailies on Sunday, Prof Kibwana, who is the most hard working governor in Kenya, highlighted a number of things that Uhuru must do in order to ensure public resources are protected from looters.

Kibwana noted that Uhuru must be prepared to deal with his friends in government if he means well for this nation.

The governor says probing individuals is not enough to end corruption unless the president means what he says.

The law and constitutional professor also talks about countries such as Rwanda and Botswana where the fight against corruption was won after different measures were put in place by the Presidents and others leaders in the government.

"The President must sustain the political will exhibited so far. The legal institutions charged with fighting the sleaze - such as prosecutors and judicial institutions - must be independent, objective and non-political,” he wrote.

Tuesday, December 18, 2018- Disgraced Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe and her fiancé, Joseph ‘Jowie’ Irungu ‘rekindled’ their love on Tuesday when they hugged each other tightly at Milimani Law Courts.

This is the first time the once love birds turned murder suspects have shown such a reconciliatory gesture since they were implicated in the gruesome murder of business lady, Monica Kimani, in September in her Kilimani apartment.

They denied the charges and while Maribe was freed on bail, Jowie has been languishing in Kamiti Maximum Prison after he was denied bail.

They appeared in Milimani Courts for the mention of the case and unlike previous appearances where they didn’t want to see each other eye-to-eye, they embraced each other passionately.

Jowie also hugged Jackie Maribe’s mother as cameramen scrambled for photos.

Jowie had just proposed to the TV girl and were planning to settle down before their world crumbled like a house of cards and now they are staring at lengthy jail sentence if found guilty of committing the gruesome murder.

Tuesday December 18, 2018 - It seems the trips by Deputy President William Ruto to parts of Nyanza are finally paying off even as a major political shift appears to be happening as we speak.

This is after several Homa Bay Members of County Assembly (MCAs) failed to show up at a function presided over by none other former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to the utter surprise of many.

In his speech, Raila expressed concern over the MCAs who were missing in action during the homecoming ceremony for Rangwe MP, Lilian Gogo, at Omoche Secondary School.

“This is a County where the majority of MCAs belong to my party.”

“I expected to meet them here,” said the stunned Raila.

Only three Ward Representatives out of 58 attended the function as others kept off under unclear circumstances, with Rusinga MCA, Okuku Miregi, saying that his colleagues boycotted the event over County Assembly politics.

But from what we know, it is more than just County politics and Ruto has something to do with the boycott.

Tuesday December 18, 2018 - The ongoing graft case against embattled National Land Commission (NLC) chairman, Mohammed Swazuri, has taken another twist after crucial evidence against him was stolen mysteriously from his office.

The computer containing fraudulent compensation details of land by Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), which the Director of Public Prosecution and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation were banking on to nail Swazuri, went missing on Sunday.

Also lost is crucial data on NLC’s compensation programme for other projects including dams and road expansion sites.

When reached for comment, Swazuri could not divulge much as he was away in the field and promised to comment more when he gets all facts right.

"I am in the field at the moment deep into Malindi where there is low network connectivity - the poor network.”

“ But I was given that hint of the loss and can only brief you more once I settle and get a full brief on the same," Swazuri said.

This comes even as it emerged that the crucial data stolen had no back up.

“The fact that such sensitive information has no back up is worrying.”

“It is likely to make operations at the commission very difficult.”

“Also to be affected are investigations in the ongoing cases involving frivolous compensation approved in the last few years” a high-placed source said.

Swazuri if facing corruption charges for pocketing billions in fraudulent land compensation schemes.

Tuesday December 18, 2018- Suspended Kenyatta National Hospital Chief Executive, Lily Koros, has landed a new job at the Ministry of Health months after a brain surgery saga nearly at KNH almost took her career down the drain.

According to sources, Koros has been appointed as an Administration Secretary at the Ministry headed by CS Sicily Kariuki.

Confirming her hiring, Health Principal Secretary (PS), Peter Tum, revealed that Koros will work under him in the administrative wing.

"Koros will be in charge of administration and her job entails oversight of the general administration duties in the ministry, which include finance, accounts and other departments," the PS stated.

In March this year, CS Kariuki sent Koros on compulsory leave after a neurosurgery mix-up saw physicians carry out a brain surgery on the wrong patient - a move that irked the Kalenjin nation to the point of demanding for Kariuki’s sacking on allegations that she was unfairly targeting Kalenjins.

Tuesday December 18, 2018 - Even as President Uhuru Kenyatta intensifies the war on corruption and wastage of public resources, it has now emerged that the Jubilee Government is the biggest culprit in wastage of public money.

According to a report by the Controller of Budget, Government offices have increased the money they spent on parties in the three months leading to September 2018.

The Ministry of Interior headed by CS Fred Matiang’i was at the top, increasing the amount it spent on entertainment more than 10 times, from Kshs11.7 million a year earlier to Kshs111.7 million.

Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ministries also increased their expenditures tenfold to Kshs118.8 million and Kshs35.9 million respectively.

That compounded the figure spent by the public offices to Kshs778 million from Kshs646 million the same period last year.

On the other hand, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s office spent Kshs155.8 million in the same period which was a decrease from Kshs167 million in the same period last year.

Tuesday December 18, 2018 - Kenyans woke up on Tuesday morning to shocking news that crucial evidence at the National Lands Commission (NLC) offices has been stolen thus jeopardising the case where NLC chairman, Mohamed Swazuri, is accused of corruption.

Swazuri, together with Kenya Railways Managing Director, Atanas Maina, and 13 others, are facing jail time over irregular compensation of land during the construction of Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).

According to detectives, thieves broke into Swazuri’s office on Sunday and stole a computer containing the crucial documents about SGR compensation.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the computer that was stolen holds crucial data connected to the case in which Prof Swazuri and others are accused of irregularly compensating land owners for the Mombasa-Nairobi SGR phase, which was completed in June last year.

The incident happened a week after the Judiciary under Chief Justice David Maraga allowed Swazuri to go back to his office even after the Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Haji, opposed that.

Haji argued that letting Swazuri back to work could jeopardise the case.

Noordin’‘s argument has been proven right after Swazuri and his accomplices ensured that the files disappear.

Maraga is yet to comment on the issue.

Tuesday December 18, 2018-Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Eugene Wamalwa, has been trolled by supporters of Deputy President William Ruto for casting doubts on his chances of succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

Led by Eldoret-based political analyst Donald Korir, the DP’s supporters asked him to drop Wamalwa from a list of his allies in Western Kenya as soon as possible.

Korir argued that Wamalwa had no political impact in the Western region and was just wasting Ruto’s time.

He noted that the former Saboti Member of Parliament has never had any influence in the politics of the Luhya nation and enjoys appointment to the Cabinet for no tangible reason.

“Wamalwa being the CS was just a way of recognizing his brother the late Kijana Wamalwa that he was in Government all along in his life, him being CS has never contributed to the formation of Jubilee Government than Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka and other leaders,” Korir said.

“He is searching for a way of being influential in the Western region which might be a pipe dream when the likes of former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale and Lusaka are still actively involved in politics,” he added.

Tuesday, December 18, 2018 - When the late Monica Kimani was brutally murdered and her body dumped in a bathtub at her apartment in Kilimani, Jacque Maribe’s lover, Jowie, was the first suspect to be arrested.

Watertight evidence puts Jowie at the scene of the crime.

He was the last person to leave Monica Kimani’s apartment and when he accessed her apartment, he used fake documents.

Detectives also established that Jacque Maribe helped her killer fiance burn evidence that linked him to the gruesome murder.

Tuesday December 18, 2018 - Former Kakamega Senator, Dr Boni Khalwale, has claimed that Deputy President William Ruto is the biggest winner in President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (NASA), Raila Odinga’s tour of Nyanza last week.

During the much publicised tour, Uhuru and Ruto attracted mammoth crowds and this according to Khalwale gave Ruto a big political mileage.

Khalwale said Ruto was the biggest gainer in the politics that played out during the Nyanza tour where he affirmed his support for the handshake between Uhuru and Raila.

"The tour is a solid confirmation that there is no animosity between Raila and Ruto. This was timely and it killed an earlier scheme by a number of politicians who wanted to give the impression that Ruto was not welcome in Nyanza," Khalwale said.

The former Senator who was being hosted for an interview by a local daily said Raila Odinga “rolled out the carpet for Ruto,” and as such, “the DP will be warmly received by the region in his subsequent attempts to penetrate Luo Nyanza.”

“With this development, it means Raila has opened doors for Ruto to enter the region. He will now continue visiting the area and continue building political capital," Khalwale stated.

Tuesday December 18, 2018 - Deputy President William Ruto has termed National Super Alliance leader, Raila Odinga, as a tribal bigot who always fans ethnic hatred whenever he loses elections.

Speaking at Iguhu in Ikolomani Constituency after laying the foundation stone for a planned Medical Training College on Monday, Ruto said any leader who creates chaos whenever he loses an election is the biggest enemy of democracy.

The DP said political competition should not be about politicians retreating to their ethnic enclaves after losing elections.

“Kenya is a democracy and those who lose in elections should not fan ethnic animosity by failing to concede defeat. We need to have political parties that have a national outlook and do away with ethnic-based parties if we are to build a strong united country,” he said.

He also castigated Raila Odinga for repeating that he won the 2017 presidential elections saying the issue of who won the election is now past tense and leaders should concentrate on improving the lives of their constituents.
