Tuesday January 8, 2019-President Uhuru Kenyatta is facing serious rebellion within his Jubilee Party to the point that MPs are now ready to send him home even before his term ends in 2022.
This follows his continued silence as his Deputy, William Ruto, is being rattled over his 2022 bid by people believed to be close to him.
Speaking at Parliament Buildings yesterday, Sirisia Member of Parliament (MP), John Waluke, revealed that more than 85% of MPs have already signed a petition seeking to dissolve Parliament.
He said the move was informed by the latest spate of attacks directed at Deputy President William Ruto by former Jubilee Party Chairman, David Murathe.
According to him, most MPs are of the opinion that the country goes back to the ballot for a fresh election since Murathe's sentiments made them believe the country was headed in a wrong direction.
Flanked by his nominated counterpart, Halima Mucheke, Waluke challenged the President to come clean on whose instructions Murathe was working under.
“We want to know who is this sending Murathe to speak nonsense every day.”
“As we speak, many Members of Parliament are tired with Murathe's speech...85% of us are busy signing the petition and we want this 12th Parliament dissolved so we can seek new mandate," stated Waluke.
