Tuesday, November 27, 2012 - A middle aged security guard yesterday denied pouring hot water on her husband and injuring him badly at their home in Kawangware stage 11. The incident which occurred on Saturday has left the woman’s husband hospitalized and with severe burns on the face and chest.
The Kibera law court heard that Lillian Wafula had a fight with her husband Kenneth over money to buy milk. Her husband refused to give her money prompting her to pouring the boiling water which was meant for tea on him.
Apparently Kenneth was still sleeping in their semi permanent home and was awoken by the hot sensation. His screams alerted neighbors who rushed him to Kenyatta National Hospital where he is still recuperating.
Lillian was however whisked by neighbors to Kawangware police post where she was held in custody from Saturday through Monday. She however pleaded with the court to release her on bail since she was sick and needed medical attention.
The court released her on a cash bail of Sh. 10,000 or bond of Sh. 20,000. Her case will be heard on February 25.
