Wednesday, November 28th, 2012 - Tusker Premier League giants Gor Mahia have dismissed reports indicating that Croatian coach Zdravko Logarusic could be on his way out of the club after he returned to Croatia for holiday before agreeing to a new deal with the club.

The Croat who was named the TPL 2012 coach of the year revealed that he has no contract with Gor Mahia for next season a situation that has alerted rivals AFC Leopards who are thought to be interested in acquiring his services.

However, in a quick rejoinder, Gor Mahia’s vice chairman David Kiilo and Secretary General George Bwana dismissed the exit talks saying: “As far as we know, the coach is away for off season holiday after a good year.

“We have a contract with the coach that runs until April 2013.”

They further revealed that Logarusic drafted recommendations including a number of players he expects Gor to sign before he left.

“As far as we know, the coach is away on holiday and before he left he gave us a report on his new finds for the team and players to be recruited for next season, he also gave us his recommendations on who to release and the preseason plan.

Assistant coach Bobby Ogolla is in charge at the moment but they are not taking chances in case Logarusic decides to quit.

“We must move on, we have a very huge data bank of coaches who had applied to get the job when we advertised for the position this year. We will go back to our drawing board and recruit a new coach. But to just make things clear, Gor Mahia still has a valid contract with Logarusic until April 2013.”

Speculation is rife that Logarusic is being pursued by Gor Mahia rivals AFC Leopards who sacked their coach Jan Koops and the entire technical bench following a disappointing season.
