Wednesday, December 19, 2012 – A Ugandan Member of Parliament visiting Kenya was on Saturday night accosted by five armed robbers as he entered a residential area in Karen accompanied by his wife.
Abdi Fadhil Kisos Chemaswet, Kween County MP was driving into a compound in Karen estate when five men armed with AK47 rifles attacked them. The gun men were lying at the gate in waiting.
The gun men threatened to kill them and robbed them off cash and valuables before escaping with their car. Abdi reported the incident to Karen police station and police are following promising leads which will help in arresting the gang.
Nairobi area police boss Moses Ombati confirmed the incident and said that the MP was driving home at about midnight with his wife Christine Kisas when the robbery happened.
