Thursday, December 20, 2012 - Residents of a village in Kirinyaga yesterday found the body of a college student who had earlier on been reported missing and in the hands of abductors. His captors had contacted his family demanding ransom which the family could not raise.
Kennedy Muchiri 20, is alleged to have gone missing over the weekend as he was going home. Police started following leads from the phone numbers that his captor’s were using but time ran out on them.
Residents who found his body at Ragati River in Kibingoti village in Ndia were shocked to see the body stashed in a sack. Preliminary investigations indicated that he was killed elsewhere before his body was dumped there.
Confirming the incident Kerugoya OCPD Apollo Onyonyi said that the body of the student was taken to Kerugoya District Hospital mortuary where a post mortem will be conducted.
