Saturday, January 12, 2013 - Drama ensued at the Mwingi Police Station after a man suspected of stealing livestock was caught with a sack full of goat meat. The man was frog marched to the Police Station after villagers nabbed him with meat, head and goat skin.
According to Paul Mutunga, a villager in Ndalani, livestock theft had become rampant in the area and the man had always been a key suspect. Residents of the area found that he had already skinned one of the goats after a surprise visit to his home.
Deputy OCPD Leonard Baini said the suspect would be arraigned in court as soon as possible since the meat (evidence) had started decaying.
The suspect however denied the charges saying he had bought the goat from the local trading center.
