Monday, January 21, 2013 - Spain striker David Villa who has been linked with a move to Premier Club Arsenal has reportedly told the club that he wants to leave in this month's transfer window.
The Spain international was recently linked with a move to the Gunners but Barcelona manager boss Tito Vilanova recently revealed that the 31-year-old will not quit Camp Nou.
Despite Vilanova's claims, it is understood that Villa has requested a transfer due to his failure to nail a regular spot in the Barcelona first team, according to Spanish newspaper Sport.
The 31-year old missed the second half of Catalan giants’ campaign last season after suffering a broken leg at the Club World Cup in December, 2011.
Although Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is in the transfer market for a proven striker to bolster his squad, he is yet to sign any player with just 11 days left to the closure of the transfer window.
