Wednesday January 30, 2013 - The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) chairman Mzalendo Kibunjia has asked Kenyans to ignore opinion polls ahead of the general election.
Addressing a press conference at Great Rift Valley lodge in Naivasha when he opened a two day workshop for Goodwill Ambassadors on peaceful elections on Tuesday, Kibunjia said Kenyans should ignore the opinion polls.
He said, elections worldwide are not determined by pollsters but how people come out to vote.
Kibunjia said though opinion polls play a critical role in election process, it is unwise to over-rely on them.
“I ask Kenyans not to put too much trust on opinion polls as pollsters do not manage elections and theirs are only opinions,”Kibunjia said.
On the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Kibunjia said through the referendum and by-elections, the commission has proven it can conduct credible free and fair elections.
