Tuesday 5TH March 2013 - It was a shame for a presiding officer in Mvita after he was arrested for allegedly sneaking rejected governorship ballot papers back into the ballot box.
It is said that the officer did that at Mvita polling station after sensing defeat for his candidate. Other presiding officers saw him and raised an alarm leading to his arrest.
Sources reveal that the officer had been talking about his preferred candidate and after he sensed defeat, he decided to take back the rejected ballot papers back into the box to be counted.
IEBC CEO James Oswago confirmed the incident terming it as embarrassing. He added that stern action will be taken against the officer.
