Tuesday 5th March 2013 - A voter, who was arrested with two ballot papers in Embakasi Nairobi, has today been sentenced to two years in jail by a Nairobi court.

Samuel Muema was arrested in possession of two ballot papers against the law.

It is alleged that the man wanted to vote twice. He was seen by an observer who raised alarm leading to his arrest

Appearing before Nairobi Senior Resident magistrate, Samuel pleaded guilty and asked to be forgiven. His pleas were ignored and instead handed a 2 year jail term. The Senior magistrate discouraged such practices saying that the law will catch up with all those practicing such vices.

Samuel was given 14days to appeal if he was not satisfied with the ruling
