Monday March 11, 2013 - The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Chairman Isaack Hassan has come under sharp criticism from a section of Kenyans living abroad for failing to register them to participate in the just concluded historic general elections.

Led by Omar Mmubango, a Kenyan born US citizen, the Diaspora voters now want Issack Hassan and IEBC to take early measures to register all the eligible Diaspora voters for future elections because it was their constitutional right which recognizes dual citizenship.

Omar also decried the electoral laws and urged the relevant authorities to amend the constitution to allow a two-step process in the Presidential elections.

According to him, the first round of the elections will leave the best two contenders in the race go for the second round which will then give Kenyans a chance to pick the best President between them.

He however, on behalf of the Diaspora voters congratulated Kenyans for keeping peace throughout  the elections and also wished  President elect Uhuru Kenyatta best of luck as he embarks on tough journey of restoring Kenya’s economy.
