Tuesday, April 09, 2013 - Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has called upon his charges to be ruthless as they close in on the Premier League title following their lethargic performance in the 2-1 Premier League defeat to Manchester City at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils’ lead was cut to 12 points at the top of the Premier League with seven games to play for.
The 71-year old Scottish tactician has has urged his players to put last night to the back of their minds and start preparing for Saturday's clash against Stoke City.
He told reporters at the post-match press conference: "It's a healthy lead but we're not taking anything for granted.
"If you look at our history over the years, we always make it difficult for ourselves.
"The supporters are hanging on the edge of their seats every year. It is a 12-point lead, we go to Stoke at the weekend and we will have a go."
United need 10 more points to claim the championship that means they need three more wins and a draw to clinch a record 20th Premier League title.
