A Pakistani couple who murdered their teenage daughter in Britain has been sentenced to life.
The verdict given recently was based on the testimony of the girl's younger sister - the witness to her parents killing her older sister with a plastic bag in 2003.
According to a report in NDTV, Shafilea - who was "squeezed between two cultures - began rebelling against her parents' strict rules. She would hide western clotehs and make-up in her bag at school aand change into conservative clothes before her parents picked her up.
Following an argument about her dress, her parents pushed her down on a couch, stuffed her mouth with a plastic bag and held her hands over her mouth and nose until she died, testified Alesha.
In fact, in early 2003 she pleaded with authorities to allow her to move out of her parents' home because she alleged they were abusive and 'forcing her into an arranged marriage'.
