Monday April 15, 2013 - Narc Kenya chairperson Martha Karua has said her party will not join any coalition, saying she will concentrate in building the party towards the 2017 general election.

Speaking at Lake Elementaita County Lodge during a retreat for the party’s National Executive Committee to review its performance, Karua said Narc Kenya is not interested in forming any coalition with any alliance.

“We are committed  to rebuilding  the party from the ashes  of defeat and do what it takes to build a vibrant and formidable model political outfit to carry on our  ideals and safe guard our nations’ democratic renewal,” Karua said.

Karua said it is unfortunate that most parties are rushing into post election coalition agreements with Government. She said this poses a threat to multiparty democracy.

“We have to broaden the political discourse in Kenyan in the coming days. We fought long and hard for multipartysm. To let go of it now for political appointments or government jobs is wrong,” Karua who is also the former Gichugu MP said.
