Monday, August 13, 2012 - Githunguri MP Njoroge Baiya claims that his life is in danger after a close friend and CDF official in his constituency was hacked to death by unknown assailants who he claims were looking for him.
Apparently the assailants did not rob anything from Stephen Mungai, something that made Baiya suspect that they were trailing him and since they could not trace him decided to kill his long time friend as a message to him.
According to Baiya, the killing is political and he suspects his political opponents who he has been rubbing shoulders with the wrong way since his election to office by Githunguri people.
Baiya asked for police protection during the funeral of Mungai at his Karia village home in Githunguri. He joins the long list of MPs who in the past have been threatened by unknown people.
