Sunday 24th March 2013 - A man who had been arrested after he allegedly stole his employer’s sheep yesterday admitted to the crime before a Kitale court.
Appearing before Kitale magistrate P.Kulecho, Wilson Wanjala told the court that he stole a sheep from his boss who had refused to pay his salary of three months.
The prosecution told the court that Wanjala stole the sheep valued at Sh.4000 on March 18th this year from Regina Wanyama. The theft took place at Sikhendu area in Trans Nzoia County.
The court heard that the accused had asked for his salary from Ms Wanyama but she refused saying that she had no money. The accused decided to steal so as to pay himself the debt she owes him.
Wanjala however denied the second charge of handling stolen property.
The magistrate ordered that the accused be released on a Sh10, 000 bond or on a cash bail of Sh5, 000.
The case will be heard June 4th this year.
