The suspect is said to have killed Mrs. Maria Moraa Nyambane at Nyabara-Ibere village of West Mugirango and fled. Allegedly, the man decided to hack his mother to death after the old woman declined to give him super on Friday evening.
A manhunt was launched for the man and upon realizing this, his relatives who had given him refuge handed him over to the mob.
The 30 year old man was rescued by administration Police officers as he was being frog matched to his home where the mob had planned to lynch him.
He is being held at Nyamira police station waiting to be arraigned in court on Monday
