Sunday April 7, 2013 – The Luo Council of elders has urged Prime Minister Raila Odinga to support President Uhuru Kenyatta for the benefit of the entire Luo community.
Speaking in Ndiru in South Nyanza on Saturday, chairman of the council Ker Riaga Ogalo strongly opposed Raila’s quest to be the Leader of Opposition in Parliament saying it will not benefit the community.
The Luo leaders say the region has been sidelined in terms of development due to its stand in opposition politics.
The leaders urged Prime Minister Raila Odinga to wake up from sleep of denial and accept that Uhuru Kenyatta is the next Head of State after President Kibaki exit on Tuesday.
The elders also urged members of the Luo community not to live on denial and understand that the fourth President of the Republic of Kenya is Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta.
