Monday the 15th of April 2013 - News just in indicates that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko has today directed the Police to launch an investigation into a threatening letter sent to Chief Justice Willy Mutunga in late February.

The letter was made public by the Chief Justice himself just before the High Court ruled that the Jubilee pair of Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto could vie for the Presidency.

At the time the Chief Justice has said that neither he nor the other judges serving with him in the Judiciary would be swayed by threats. The letter was allegedly sent by members of the outlawed Mungiki group.

Besides directing the police to investigate the threats on the CJ, the DPP also urged the Inspector General of Police Keriako Tobiko to boost the security detail offered to the Chief Justice and other judges.

More updates to follow.
