Tuesday April 16, 2013 - Free maternity healthcare plans by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee Government is already causing uproar even before it is officially operationalized.

Expectant mothers in Kapsabet District Hospital have refused to pay their maternity fees charges saying the President and his Deputy promised free maternity health care once they ascend to powers.

Efforts by the doctors to reason with their patients over the issues ended up in smoke as mums will hear none of it.

An officer from the Hospital who spoke on account of anonymity said that, the Hospital was in dilemma over the whole issue and that they have asked the patients to foot for their bills until they receive an official circular from the Government authorizing them to waive the fees charges.

President Uhuru Kenyatta promised free maternity services within 100 days after coming to power.
