Tuesday April 23, 2013 - Goldenberg chief architect Kamlesh Pattni has accused Law Society of Kenya (LSK) chairman Eric Mutua of pursuing a personal feud against him.
Through his lawyer Bernard Kalove, the businessman faulted Mutua for criticising the judgment that stopped all criminal proceedings against him related to the infamous Goldenberg scandal.
“The rule of law dictates that all citizens be treated equally before the law,” Mr Kalove said
“My client was just acquitted on the violation of the same constitutional rights guaranteed by the bill of rights namely the right to a fair trial and the right to a trial within a reasonable time ,’ Kalove.
On Friday last week, Justice Joseph Mutava made a ruling shielding Kamlesh Pattni from further investigations related to the Goldenberg scandal
Mr Pattni was charged with conspiracy of defrauding the Government of Sh 5.8 billion, which was just one of the multiple cases related to the scandal that is believed to have cost taxpayers more than Sh 100 billion.
