Saturday April 27, 2013 - Deputy President William Ruto has rubbished remarks by some political pundits and analysts that they are not in good terms with President Uhuru Kenyatta over the nomination of Charity Ngilu and Najib Balala into their Cabinet.

In an exclusive interview with KTN on Friday evening, Ruto dispelled allegations of differences over Charity and Balala’s nomination, saying that was a creation of their CORD rivals who lost the last election with a thud.

Ruto said his friendship with Uhuru started in early 1990’s when they were both in KANU saying that he enjoys what he described as “very good chemistry” with the Head of State.

“We signed the agreement for the comfort of our supporters otherwise between the President and myself we did not need any agreement. In fact, the reason  we were doing  it together is not that we wanted to be careful; no its is because we felt two heads  are better than one. Otherwise I would have left to go and sleep and let the President do it because I know he would have done the right thing,” Ruto said.

He said the decision to include Ngilu and Balala was taken because besides sacrificing their time during the Jubilee campaigns, they too he said were professionals who had demonstrated competence in the past.
