Tuesday January 8, 2019 - President Uhuru Kenyatta referred to Central Kenya political leaders and the electorate (to some extent) as washenzi (idiots) on Monday after they questioned his development record in the area perceived as his political bedrock.
Uhuru, who was speaking in Mombasa during the launch of Mama Ngina Drive Waterfront project, said he will not be intimidated by some Central Kenya politicians who thrive in political confusion.
“I, my friends, am not one to be easily intimidated. Especially when I know the path I have taken and where I want to go is the best place for Kenya,” visibly agitated Uhuru said.
Uhuru spoke a week after Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria, criticized him claiming Mt Kenya region had been ignored because the President was busy initiating projects in regions that did not even vote for Jubilee.
Following the war of words between Uhuru and Kuria, former Kakamega Senator, Dr Boni Khalwale, has revealed the politician who is behind Uhuru’s sudden change of character.
He said since the time of the handshake with NASA leader, Raila Odinga, Uhuru has sunk low to a level of engaging with junior politicians like Kuria.
“Raila has confused Uhuru and he is now engaging with junior politicians like Kuria. He needs to come out from that prison that he was taken by Raila after the handshake,” Khalwale told journalists on Tuesday.
