Monday December 3, 2018- Leaders from Western and Rift Valley regions have proposed a coalition between KANU Chairman, Gideon Moi, Amani National Congress leader, Musalia Mudavadi, and Wiper's Kalonzo Musyoka ahead of the 2022 General Elections.

Speaking during a funds drive at St Stephen’s ACK Mulwanda in Khwisero, Kakamega County, in which Gideon and Mudavadi attended, the leaders called on President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader, Raila Odinga, to play the kingmaker role in the 2022 succession politics once the alliance was realised.

According to nominated MP, Godfrey Osotsi (ANC), the alliance between Moi, Mr. Kalonzo and Mr. Mudavadi was easy to sell to the electorate across the nation because they are not tainted with any scandal and had demonstrated leadership qualities.

“Mr. Moi has been accepted in the region and as the Mulembe nation we have endorsed our son (Mudavadi) to work with him.”

“We have already designed the winning strategy and urge other leaders from the region to support this new development,” said Osotsi.

“The region has over 5.7 million votes and when we add those from Rift Valley and Eastern region, our team will have formed the next Government.”

“We want Raila and Uhuru to marshal their people in favour of our candidates come 2022,” he added.

Similar sentiments were echoed by former Lugari MP, Cyrus Jirongo, and other leaders who attended the fundraiser.

Monday December 3, 2018 - Kakamega Senator, Cleopas Malala, has claimed that his predecessor, Boni Khalwale, is working day and night with Deputy President William Ruto to rock the boat with regard to the Luhya community unity.

Speaking during a funds drive in Sabatia, Vihiga County, Mr Malala said Khalwale is working with Ruto to undermine Luhya unity.

"I support Luhya unity calls. I support the call to merge our parties into one party for the Luhya,"

"A plan to merge ANC and Ford-Kenya into one party was underway. I was happy about it. Boni Khalwale and Barrack Muluka were picked to steer the process," Malala said.

He said the Luhya community should reject Khalwale because he is a gun for hire for William Ruto with a plan of splitting the Luhya vote in 2022.

"We are disturbed that the plan has been scuttled after Khalwale joined William Ruto. We are now asking is Ruto a Luhya? Is Jubilee the party that Khalwale had been asked to use to break ANC and Ford-Kenya?" he asked.

Speaking during a funds drive at St Stephen’s ACK Mulwanda in Khwisero, Kakamega County, Gideon, however, warned those engaged in early campaigns for 2022 that they will be in for a rude shock.

He particularly targeted Deputy President William Ruto, who is among those who have started early 2022 campaigns, warning him that his tsunami will sweep him away come 2022.

“My tsunami is coming and will sweep away those engaged in premature campaigns for the 2022 Presidential race, especially Ruto and his sycophants,” said Gideon Moi.

Gideon assured Luhyas that when the time comes, he will form Government with them and move the country forward.

“We will continue working with friends so that we can change the lives of our people.”

Monday December 3, 2018 -Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his ODM Party now want the President to be elected for just one term of seven years non-renewable.

In the draft copy of its proposals to the Building Bridges Initiative task-force headed by Garisssa Senator, Yusuf Haji, ODM is also proposing a Parliamentary system of Government as opposed to the Presidential.

The party has also called for the creation of more executive positions to accommodate as many people and communities as possible to reduce tension during and after elections.

According to the proposals, ODM is calling for restructuring of the Executive to re-introduce a parliamentary system and have a president elected by a college of legislatures as well as the creation of the Prime Minister’s post.

It also wants Parliament restructured to strengthen the Senate as the Upper House.

Besides, it wants the Senate to have 29 members-at least two per region-plus the Speaker.

The party is also calling for abolition of nominated Senators and reduction of the size of the National Assembly from current 349 to 180 of MPs.

Monday December 3, 2018 - Former Kiambu Governor, William Kabogo, was among thousands of commuters who were forced to walk a long distance on Monday as the ban on Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) in the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) took effect.

Kabogo, who was scheduled to attend an interview on Kameme TV, at 7 am was caught in the snarl-up and had to abandon his vehicle and trek to the vernacular station's studios at DSM Place along Kijabe Street.

“The situation in the road is pathetic. I have been forced to trek from Murang'a Road to this place," Kabogo said.

He criticised the ban saying even though the intention to decongest the city was welcomed, proper planning was needed before execution of the ban.

"I sympathise with the old and the sick going for treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital stranded at various bus stages. Sonko should have provided alternative means of transport within the CBD before implementing this directive," he said.

Monday December 3, 2018- President Uhuru Kenyatta will endorse Opposition leader, Raila Odinga, for the 2022 Presidential race.

This was revealed by Siaya Senator, James Orengo, who revealed that the President was just waiting for the opportune moment to shock the country with his endorsement of Raila.

Speaking yesterday in Gem, Siaya County, Orengo said President Kenyatta had already given an indication that the man he will pick to succeed him will be a surprise, adding that the surprise candidate will be Raila Odinga.

“At the end of the day, we are saying that the leadership of Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Amolo Odinga is going to produce the next President of the Republic of Kenya,” Orengo said.

“I’m glad when President Uhuru Kenyatta was saying he’s going to surprise people in Jubilee as to who is going to be the next President of the Republic of Kenya, he was saying that knowing that William Ruto is the Deputy President… and that surprise, according to us, practically and for all reasons, is Raila Amolo Odinga,” he added.

Monday December 3, 2018- Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria, has slammed Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko for frustrating efforts to address Nairobi's persistent transportation challenges claiming that the Governor rejected a good proposal on how to streamline the city's transport system.

This is in reaction to the ban on matatus from the CBD by Sonko which has taken effect beginning today.

In a statement to Kenyans, Kuria, who is the National Assembly's Transport, Infrastructure, Public Works and Housing Committee's Vice Chairperson, said Sonko was bitterly opposed to working with the Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (NAMATA).

He disclosed that NAMATA had come up with a long-term solution to the transportation woes in the city but the Governor rejected the solution without thinking twice.

"Governor Mike Sonko remains bitterly opposed to NAMATA on the spurious grounds that it is a ploy to deny him revenue and claw back on his powers.”

“Both claims are unfounded and not true," said Kuria.

“His latest moves to adopt knee jerk measures to 'decongest the city' are just a smokescreen meant to divert attention from his opposition to NAMATA," he added.

Monday December 3, 2018- The dreaded Mungiki sect is back with a bang and has devised a new method to recruit new members into the criminal gang.

According to detectives, the outlawed sect has been using the ceremonies surrounding circumcision as recruitment grounds to enlist young Kikuyu boys to the cult.

Speaking over the weekend, Central Regional Commissioner, Wilson Njenga, noted that they are trying to establish how the sect lures initiates.

According to the Kikuyu culture, elders should preside over boys' initiation but the culture has faded away allowing other groups, including the church, to take up the role.

Police now believe that due to lack of proper guidelines, the practice has become vulnerable to manipulation by criminal gangs, among them Mungiki.

“It is what the initiates are taught during the healing process that we are concerned about.”

“It is easy to recruit them during this period,” Njenga said.

It is now up to security agencies to act in order to stop this gang that reins terror in Central Kenya.

Uhuru’s visit will be the first in Kisumu since the March 9th handshake, between him and the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

But even before the d-day, the excitement in Kisumu is overwhelming with leaders from the region urging residents to welcome the President when he comes in.

Addressing worshipers at St Stephens Cathedral in Kisumu yesterday, area Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o asserted that the County was ready to welcome the President and that the residents are overjoyed by the planned visit.

Similar sentiments were echoed by Muhoroni MP, Onyang K’Oyoo, who welcomed the President to the region that has always been hostile to him.

“We appreciate his visit and he will be surprised how he will be welcomed in a region many perceive to be hostile to him,” K’Oyoo.

But on his part, Siaya Senator James Orengo claimed that the President will be visiting the County to reaffirm his support for Raila’s Presidential candidature in 2022 to the residents.

Orengo’s thoughts were shared by Kisumu Senator, Fred Outa, who urged the residents to welcome Uhurubecause he is the bridge that will lead the Luo community to the greatest seat on the land.

Monday December 3, 2018 -Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetang'ula, has said that he has already embarked on the ambitious journey to State House and that he will be on the ballot come 2022 gunning for the Presidency.

This is even as he had earlier indicated that he will support Deputy President William Ruto for the top seat after falling out with Opposition leader, Raila Odinga.

Speaking in Bukembe East Ward, Kanduyi Constituency on Saturday, Wetang'ula said he will be going for the Presidency, noting that he had the numbers to propel him to State House in 2022.

He also called on the rest of Luhya leaders to unite and back his bid.

"FORD Kenya will produce the next President.”

“Let us unite to produce the presidency.”

“I am asking my brothers, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, to support my Presidential bid," said Wetang’ula.

The FORD Kenya boss refuted claims that he had joined Jubilee and will back Ruto’s bid in 2022.

"We have a stand, and we can't demolish our house and join other people.”

“Those supporting the Deputy President William Ruto are just but a few gluttonous people.”

Monday, December 03, 2018 - This slay queen took to Facebook to ask a ‘stupid’ question and fittingly, she got an equally ‘stupid’ answer.

It seems she has observed several men perform this ‘ritual’ before getting it on and was curious.

And the fact that one can use a pseudonym has made it easier to post stuff one would never be proud to post using their real names.

Monday, December 03, 2018 - Popular city pastor and fashionista, Robert Burale, is a proud owner of the fastest divorce record in Kenya.

Burale, who came to the limelight a few years ago thanks to the Fashion Show on Citizen TV where he was a panelist, was divorced after only one year and two days of marriage.

His ex-wife, Rozinah Mwakideu, who is a sister to radio personality Alex Mwakideu, has spilled beans on their short-lived marriage.

During a radio interview, Rozinah revealed that Burale was a wolf in sheep’s skin who frustrated him to the point of contemplating suicide.

    She said:

“I would receive calls now and then from people and police saying Robert had unsettled debts.”

“It was a character he had and I kept waiting because I thought he would change because he was born-again.”

“For example, the main reason why I left was after my friend came to visit me and after she left she wanted to sue him.”

“I couldn’t handle that pressure plus other personal issues.”

    She added:

“There were red flags that he was cheating on me but he would apologise.”

“However he would fail and repeat it. Robert had so many things he was hiding from me in the name of being a pastor…”

“I was expecting him to change. I became suicidal in that one year I lived with Robert because there was so much I was going through but I feared what people would say if I left.”

“My mother is a prayerful person and that helped me.”

Burale opened up on his failed marriage early this year where he claimed that the main reason why it didn’t work out is because he rushed to marry his wife without dating for a long time.

“We courted for five months and then got married in the same year. Everybody said we were rushing it but we were in love, in hindsight, we should have listened. We dated, courted, paid dowry and got married all within five months. Her parents were okay.” He said.

Monday December 12, 2018 - Former Attorney General, Charles Njonjo, has offered a piece of advice to those men and women who want to live close to 100 years.

Njonjo, 98, is the only surviving member of Kenya's Independence Cabinet where he served as Jomo Kenyatta’s Legal Advisor.

In an interview with a local daily, Njonjo who in social circles is known as the “Duke of Kabeteshire” said swimming and bike riding are among the activities that make him stronger.

"I look after myself. I swim daily; I used to do 12 laps, now I do only seven. I also have a bicycle which I ride for 10 minutes daily, on top of the treadmill which I do for 10 minutes daily," Njonjo said.

The nonagenarian said in addition to physical exercises, he is mindful of his diet but admitted that in rare occasions he takes a bottle of beer which must strictly be a cider.

"I’m also careful about what I eat; I don’t eat nyama choma, I eat a lot of veggies," Njonjo said.

Born in 1920 in Kabete, Njonjo attended Alliance High School and later acquired two law degrees from Fort Hare University in South Africa and United Kingdom's Lincoln's Inn.

He joined the Government in 1963 after he was appointed as the first black Attorney General by President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.

Monday December 3, 2018 - Mumias East MP, Ben Washiali, has said MPs will demand extra perks because they have been struggling with meagre pay from the Government.

In an exclusive interview with a local daily on Sunday, Washiali who is also the Government Chief Whip said what MPs are demanding for is a right that all other employees in other sectors of employment are also enjoying.

“This is a bill about which MPs will not listen to their leaders. It is important for MPs to express their mind freely on this one,” Washiali said.

“It is a right of every employee to be housed by the employer and MPs are no exception. Let us not make it look like all the clauses are bad,” Washiali added throwing a rare warning to party leaders to spare the MPs further anguish and not dictate to them on what to do but just try to convince them.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga, have opposed plans by MPs to demand for higher salaries and free houses and termed them as “greedy leaders”.
